Modular
Modular Construction has always been an interest or ours. This, coupled with ideas of how to build in way that respects the environment leads us to explore construction using found modular items. We have interest because of this in designing with shipping containers in our projects, not as a fashion trend but as a way to Up-Cycle Material.
Containers are perfect for up-cycling. They are solid steel, so weld-ability is high. Any damage found on a container can be corrected by a competent welder.
These structural shells also create waterproof and strong construction. You can imagine the strength a steel shell has over standard wood studs.
We hope to develop these ideas further and work with local building officials to innovate.
